That’s a good point, but violence on television is more of a recent problem. I agree that there

 is a lot of violence on TV now, but you have to look at the positive side of television, If it 

weren’t for TV, we would not know what the outside world thinks and how different everyone’s

 opinions are compared to our own. Would you have known about the craze the World thinks

 and how different everyone’s opinions are compared to our own. Would you have known 

about the craze the World Cup created in Korea if you did not see the images on screen? 

I don’t think so. There’s only so much you can read in magazines and newspapers. Seeing 

the actual moving images can help you better understand certain situations.

좋은 지적입니다만, TV의 폭력성은 최근에 부각된 문제입니다. 저는 요즘 TV에 폭력이 많다는 

점에는 동의합니다만, TV의 긍정적인 면도 봐야 합니다. TV가 없다면, 우리는 나라 밖의 

사람들이 무슨 생각을 하는지 그리고 모든 사람들의 의견이 우리의 의견과 어떻게 다른지 알 수 

없을 것입니다. 화면을 통해 보지 않았다면 한국의 월드컵 열풍을 알 수 있었을까요? 

그렇지 못했을 것입니다. 잡지나 신문을 통해 읽는 것이 전부였겠지요. 실제 움직이는 모습을 

보는 것이 어떤 상황을 이해하는 데 더 많은 도움이 됩니다.
